It has been a while since director Saji Surendran has wielded the megaphone. The director has now broken his silence and announced his next project after She Taxi. The upcoming film is titled Charlie’s Angel and the story bears no similarity to the Hollywood action film of the same name. Going into the cast details first Saji names the cast — Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, Dharmajan, Lal,Renji Panicker, Alencier, Shaheen Siddique, Anarkali Marikar, Lena, Shaleen Zoya and Arya of Badai Bunglaow fame. Most of Saji’s films have a heavy dose of humour and this one does too.
Saji explains the quirky title, “This rom com is the story of Balu Varghese whose character name Charles meets Anarkali aka Angel in Dubai. He later meets her in his native place and she also starts appearing in his dreams. He is now convinced that she is meant for him and flies to Dubai to woo her. Landing there, he finds that she is a girl from a very affluent background whereas he is from a middle class family. Whether he is able to successfully woo her is the plot of the film.” The film will begin its shoot from the first week of October and the shooting locations would be Kuttanad, Dubai and Kochi. Incidentally Balu, Ganapathi, Dharmajan and Lal had played the leads in the recently released film Chunks.
