High expectation for Mohanlal's trilingual
With M’town superstar Mohanlal enjoying a huge fan following in AP as his hit movies are being dubbed into Telugu, here is Lalettan’s debut hero flick in Tollywood Manamantha in the wrapping up stage. A family entertainer directed by award winning Telugu filmmaker Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, Gautami who has made her comeback with Kamal’s Papanasam (a remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam) has been roped in to play the female lead as Mohanlal’s wife.
In fact, they are considered as a lucky pair ever since they shared screen space in Malayalam blockbuster musical thriller His Highness Abdullah and later in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar. Apparently, the movie is also made in Mollywood as Vismayam and in Tamil it is titled Namadhu.
Speaking to DC its Executive Producer Krishna Rao says that it is an anthology. “Four different stories run parallelly which will be connected to the main plot in the end. Though Moanlal sir has appeared in a song sequence in a 1994 Balakrishna movie where late legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao also shared screen space, technically this is the first T’town movie where he essays the lead protagonist.”
Known for his perfection, Mohanlal even learnt Telugu hiring a tutor to get the precise diction so that his dialogue delivery would be closer to those who speak the language. The supporting cast includes Nassar, Urvashi, Nedumudi Venu, Naresh and SP Balasubramaniam among others. Now, the versatile actor is busy with his second venture Janata Garage with Jr NTR, where he is touted to play a powerful antagonist.
