Arjun Nandakumar's kitty is full
After essaying a key role in Priyadarshan’s super hit film Oppam, Arjun Nandhakumar is all set to make a comeback with two upcoming films — Ore Mukham and Marupadi.
Arjun will be seen in the role of Aravindan, a college-goer, in the Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrer Ore Mukham. On the role, he says, “It is one of the interesting roles I have done so far. I act as one of the close friends of Dhyan’s charachter Zakhariya Pothen who all are students of a college in the 1980s.”
It was all of a sudden that Arjun got zeroed in for the character. “It was with one of my friends that I first met Sajith chettan, the director of the film. My friend introduced me to Sajith chettan, who could easily recollect me as he had watched my films and said that he liked my performance in Grand Master. He added that the casting of Ore Mukham was progressing and he wanted to assign me for the role of Prakashan. I agreed and went to hear the screenplay. I liked the screenplay and the way he narrated it. When the narration got over, we both felt that I am apt for the role of Aravindan instead of Prakashan. It was just 20 days left for the shoot when I was finalised for the role,” he says.
Arjun says he did not go for any home work not did he take any extra effort to essay the role though it was set against the 1980s. “Sajith chettan told us to just behave as usual. The reference in front of us was Lalettan’s Yuvajanolsavam and the director himself had pointed out that the costumes as well as behaviour of the character of that era was almost the same as now. The entire filming happened at Kerala Varma College where the last film shot was Thoovanathumpikal. Interestingly, the college look the same as seen in that film,” Arjun says. Yet another film with Arjun coming to theatres is Marupadi directed by V.M. Vinu. “It is a female-oriented subject with Bhama in the lead, based on a real incident. I act as a journalist, which is a crucial role, in the film,” says the actor, who has not committed to any film as he has been busy with Celebrity Badminton League for the past few months.
