After critically acclaimed Leela, Biju Menon is all set to join hands with writer-director Ranjith. But this time, Ranjith will be seen in the role of a producer. According to sources close to the project, Ranjith will bankroll the film which will have debutant Anoop Ravindran as director. Actor-turned-producer Arun Narayanan will be the co-producer.
When quizzed about the film, the source says, “The film will be a complete out-and-out entertainer. It will be set against the backdrop of Chennai. This yet-to-be-titled film narrates the story of a family settled in Chennai.” A Tamil actor will also play a prominent role in the film, which is expected to start rolling by end of this year.
Though it is his first film, Anoop has been working in the film industry for the past six years as assistant director. He had earlier assisted noted filmmakers, which include V.K. Prakash and Rajesh Pillai. Arun Narayanan, who has acted in films like Janakan, Heart Beats and Paavada, was last seen in a pivotal role in Prithviraj-starrer Darwinte Parinamam. He was one of the producers of Mammootty-starrer Puthiya Niyamam, which reached theatres this February.
