It seems Kollywood superstar Dhanush has ‘adopted’ Tovino Thomas, the upcoming talent of M-town, who is known for his roles in Ennu Ninte Moideen, Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha. Dhanush, who is known to be the mentor of young talents like musician Anirudh Ravichander and actor Sivakarthikeyan, has forayed into Malayalam by producing the forthcoming dark comedy Tharangam starring Tovino. As the movie gears up for release, the second news broke when his production company, Wunderbar Films, announced on Facebook that Dhanush’s next movie Maari 2 will have Tovino as the antagonist.
The post read “First #Maari 2 update!: Maari has a new nemesis. Excited to have the Super Talented Tovino Thomas on board as the villain for Maari 2.” (sic) The movie directed by Balaji Mohan is a sequel to the 2015-hit Maari that saw Dhanush in the role of a rowdy, pitted against a cop played by singer-turned-actor Vijay Yesudas. Tovino is quite busy in the industry with a slew of projects in the making. Apart from Tharangam and Maari 2, he is currently working on the bilingual Abhiyude Katha Anuvinteyum, Mayanadhi and Luka among others.
