Dileep-Kavya tie the knot
Putting a full stop to rumours about a relationship between the duo, actors Dileep and Kavya Madhavan got married in a private ceremony held at the Hotel PGS Vedanta in Kaloor, Kochi.
Dileep was seen in a traditional mundu and shirt, and accompanied by his friends and family, including daughter Meenakshi. The pretty bride, Kavya wore a simple Kerala saree and was styled elegantly with minimal makeup and accessories.
Actors Mammootty, Siddique, Jayaram, Meera Jasmine, Salim Kumar and many others were spotted at the low-key affair. Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph, and director Joshiy were some of the other attendees.
Kerala Film Producers’ Association president G. Suresh Kumar, who attended along with his wife Menaka, says that he was aware of the ceremony for the past few days. However, he also admitted that he hadn’t even told his wife about it — in order to maintain secrecy.
Actor-turned-director Salim Kumar who has been Dileep’s close friend since his mimicry days, says, “I knew that they would marry. But Dileep called me and informed me about the ceremony only at the last minute!”
Scriptwriter Benny P. Nayarambalam, who penned Dileep’s many hits including Kalyanaraman, Chanthupottu and Welcome to Central Jail, also happened to know about the ceremony only on the day before the wedding.
Meera Jasmine, who is back to the big screen after a sabbatical, is happy for the couple. “I am close to both of them. I am really happy that they are one now. They deserve it. My best wishes and prayers for them,” she says.
It is the second marriage for both stars. Dileep married actress Manju Warrier in 1998, but they separated in 2015. Whereas Kavya was briefly married to Nishal Chandra.
The Dileep-Kavya linkups were in the gossip columns for a long time although they never confirmed it. With this marriage though, the couple have put rest to all the rumours! Reportedly, Dileep also stated that the wedding took place only after his daughter Meenkashi approved it — and that Kavya was never the reason behind his separation with ex-wife Manju.
