Give her a big APP'LAUSE
Of all the kids who awaited Santa’s midnight gifts, Akshara Kishor was different. She was making plans the other way around, to pop a surprise to her dearest fans and well-wishers. The little actor is the proud owner of an app, where everything you want to know about her is available in just a few swipes. This being a first for a child actor, the heroes and heroines in Malayalam cinema have still not entered the app space, except Mohanlal.
Akshara became the darling child of Malayalis with the prime-time pot boiler Karuthamuthu, where she played Balachandrika. As Bala mol grew up to be Balachandrika IAS, Akshara had to disappear from the small screen, but only after earning a permanent seat in the hearts of hundreds of fans.
“Every detail about Akshara is made available on the app. Than going for Google searches, people would know from a single point what she is up to. It is in an initial stage. Soon, we’d incorporate a facility to livestream the stage shows she is part of. Another feature is to let people chat with her once they create an account on the app,” says Kishor Kumar T.V., Akshara’s father, who is also behind developing the app in his software firm Infame Tech Solutions private limited.
A class IV student in Kochi, Akshara has limited the number of cinemas and tele-serials to manage her studies. She has acted in a movie, Kamuki, to be released soon. “We have gone selective about the acting assignments as she has a lot to study. She has signed on two more movies that would start rolling soon. She is all excited about getting her own app,” says Kishor, when Akshara was away learning a few dance steps for her next stage show.
The app was launched together by actors Tini Tom and Manoj K. Jayan on the occasion of a Malayalam film award presentation ceremony. Compared to the south, celebrity apps are popular in Bollywood where actors like Salman Khan, Alia Bhat, Sunny Leone, Kajal Aggarwal, Sonam Kapoor, and Disha Patani are active on their official apps.
