Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is a boring and painful watch

Young actor Nikhil Siddharth has to be careful about his choice of stories and movies since his stock soared after ‘Karthikeya 2’ but thereafter delivered duds like ‘Spy’. He plays a car racer in this movie, in contrast, the narration runs on snail-pace from flash back to another. Probably, director Sudheer Varma was inspired by the narrative style of Hollywood films. Even the non-linear narrative holds interest, if the ‘happenings’ revealed in bits and parts are interesting enough. Here it is just a triangular love story going wrong and the gangster element looked more forced than real. Nikhil falls in love with Rukmini Vasanth and he loses her after wrongly proposing to her friend. Dejected, he moves to London to pursue car racing. Even there, he is in love with another girl (Divyansha Kaushik) but he couldn’t win her too. Later, Rukmini arrives in London and both get closer again but she is unable to express her love to him due one reason or another.

Pathetically, this wafer-thin plot is revealed by one robber(Satya) to his friend while preparing to loot a house in Hyderabad. Director Sudheer Vama introduces a dreaded don (Tony Vijay) who is merciless and a skirt-chaser but slowly he turns into a clown. The film revolves around a pen-drive like device and even the story of the film is as ‘tiny’ as that and fails to engage the audience. It looks like the film was made a long time ago and released in 2024. Because you cannot surely miss this outdated plot and characters who give us a ‘déjà vu’ kind of feeling.

Nikhil is a bike racer and falls in love with a pretty girl (Rukmini Vasanth) while trying to nab a chain snatcher. After pursuing her for some time and trusting her looks and response, he proposes to her through a message on mobile phone. When he gets a reply from her that is seeing someone else, he leaves for London to become a car racer. Later, he saves a girl (Divyansha) being chased by goons and takes her home. After spending a few good moments, both decide to get married and plan everything in a temple, but the bride goes missing. Meanwhile, Rukmini comes to London to pursue her internship and both begin to see each other. Will he be able to marry his lady love, check out theatres?

After a dud like ‘Spy’, Nikhil plays a bike and car racer and wants to become a professional racer but fate has other plans for him. He looks good and delivers a few comic one liners but he couldn’t salvage a slow-paced and painful narration. Rukmini has few good moments but her role is not well written. Divyansha plays a role with grey shades and looks pretty. Comedians Viva Harsha and Satya evoke a few laughs but not enough.

Director Sudheer Varma made a dark comedy ‘Swamy Ra Ra’ with Nikhil and it was quite engaging since its heart was in the right place. Probably, he wanted to rehash it by entraping hero in a missing ‘device’ which can enable transfer for 500 crores but it lacks the verve and spirit of the original and falls flat.
