Bachchala Malli Review: A rotten, boring and rustic love story
Cast: Allari Naresh, Amrutha Iyer, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, Harsh, Devandra Suuttorru and others
Director: Subbu Mangadevvi
Rating: 1/ 5 stars
Allari Naresh picked a boring love story that falls flat on its face due to a cliched plot and dreary narration. The whole film revolves around the hero who gives up his studies and becomes a ruffian, just because his father leaves him for another woman which is too much to digest.
The friction between father and son extends beyond a point, and then there are issues with the villain too. In between, he falls in love with a college student ( Amritha Iyer) and she is reluctant initially but later falls in love with him. He also keeps flexing his muscles a couple of times and even bashes up a cop for misbehaving with a prostitute.
Head constable Rao Ramesh is unhappy with Allari Naresh's unruly behavior. He even arrests him once but the hero's father gets him out.
Meanwhile, the heroine informs her father that she wants to marry Allari Naresh and Rao Ramesh asks him to mention his father's name in his wedding card. Hero walks out and asks the heroine to come out, but she declines.
On the other hand, he wants to establish a godown for sack bags and grow in business but the owner's association head (Devendra Suttorru) is against the growth of lower-caste sellers and wants to promote his caste members.
However, Allari Naresh wants to set up a godown on his own but the villain sets the godown on fire. Devandra Suttoru impressed as a ruthless feudal lord in ‘Kantara’ but he is wasted in this film with a poorly-etched role. It looks like comedy star Allari Naresh is trying to become an action hero and directors are making space for a few action episodes but his anger-driven role in this film is unnatural and quite predictable so they fail to pack a punch.
The film tracks young Allari Naresh from his childhood who comes topper in the district his father is elated and they take photos together.
However, their love and bonding are disturbed, and one hero’s father walks out of their family. The dejected hero begins to smoke, and drink and becomes a womanizer too and is also rusticated from school. He grows up into a ruffian and bashes up anyone who hurts his friends. He falls in love with a pretty college student (Amrith Iyer) and she is reluctant initially but later accepts his love. But he has a lot of issues to overcome marrying his lady love and also restoring his business against the evil plans of the villain.
After impressing in laugh-riots like ‘Sudigadu’, Allari Naresh is picking action roles to change his image and extend his career. He tasted success with 'Naandi' and 'Ugram' but it would be difficult for him if he picks a rotten script.
Amrithya Iyer has a limited role while Rohini and Rao Ramesh impress in their respective roles.
