Brace, brace, brace

One of India's biggest EDM festivals to take place in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad will play host to one of the largest EDM festivals in India — Spinland — to be held on February 12, 13 and 14.

The three-day music carnival is expected to receive a footfall in excess of 10,000 people. It’s not just that the festival will even feature a campsite to accommodate nearly 3,000 people — in a move similar to what we see at various music festivals including Briton’s Glastonbury

To top it all, an interesting line-up of world-renowned artistes coupled with several popular city-based underground artistes will make the event one of a kind.

Chandrakanth adds, “Also, the support of K.T Rama Rao Garu and the government of Telangana has been invaluable. With their continued guidance, we hope to host this event with no glitches and aim to make it a yearly thing.”

Several big names in the EDM industry like Headhunterz, Aly and Fila and Gregor Salto will be headlining the event.

Some artistes, however, are cautious with their exuberance. Marc Robjin, popularly called Baba Robjin, who will be playing at the event, says, “It’s a new festival. It has to prove itself. But with the creme de la creme of Indian underground playing alongside renowned artists like Gregor Salto and Pig & Dan, I don’t think it can go wrong.”

Hyderabad based DJ, Ram Sagar, who will also be performing at the poolside stage at the carnival, adds, “Yes it’s new and the crowd turnout might be low this time around, but I’m sure by the time the event returns the next time, the acceptance will be a lot higher. Also, it’s a great opportunity for Hyderabadi artists to showcase their skills,” he says.
