Patience pays off for Rinosh George

Rinosh George waited for eight years for the release of his first film.

Slow and steady wins the race and here, the tortoise happens to be Rinosh George. It took Rinosh eight years to reach the finishing point of a race that had its share of obstacles. It was a film called Nonsense conceived eight years ago by director M. C. Jithin. Rinosh plays the lead in it: “A lot of people were approached but nobody was ready to produce the film the reason might be the absence of a star cast as well as the title. There were people who asked us to change the title but the makers did not want that.”

Ultimately Johny Sagarika decided to produce the film retaining the same name. It was a victory for the actor whose faith in the film and the makers was rewarded. Nonsense is claimed to be India’s first film to explore BMX bicycle racing and also stars Vinay Forrt, Shruthi Ramachandran, Renji Panicker, KPAC Lalitha and others.

There are numerous reasons why an actor signs for a film and Rinosh reveals his. “There was a soul in the narrative as well as an inherent goodness. I also found that I could relate completely with my character Arun Jeevan. He is someone who is called nonsense because he is crazy about BMX bike stunts and does not have the dreams that a man of his age does. At Arun’s approximate age in the film, even I was not taken seriously because I had music on my mind most of the time and thought differently.” The role has certainly not been a cake walk for the actor who has featured in music albums, the most notable one being – I am a Mallu.

Shedding more light on his character, Rinosh explains: “My character is someone who wants to represent the country in BMX stunts.” To play the part of a BMX stunt man, Rinosh underwent training from a top BMX stuntman Annul Pale, who came all the way from Mumbai. He and the other cast members had a month-long training to perfect their roles. It was not an easy task. “The cycle does not have brakes and essentially one has to put their feet on the back tyre to stop the bike. Also the seat is more for performing stunts than to sit,” he says adding , “It was very difficult initially but I gave the stunts my hundred percent and my trainer told me how to handle it.”

He has a couple of offers that he is considering but prefers to wait with bated breath for the response of his debut before proceeding.
