Popular K-pop girl band BLACKPINK is grabbing music lovers' attention on the iTunes charts across the globe with their new song from the soundtrack of “BLACKPINK: THE GAME”!
On August 25, BLACKPINK officially released “THE GIRLS,” their brand-new single for the OST of their mobile game “BLACKPINK: THE GAME.” On August 23, the song was first unveiled through the app.
On September 5, YG Entertainment, promoters of BLACKPINK, officially announced that “The Girls” had reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 30 different regions since its release.
“It is unusual for a game OST song without official promotional activities or performances to achieve such results,” the agency said.
“BLACKPINK is displaying their strong foothold in the mainstream pop market,” YG claimed.
However, some blinks expressed their dissatisfaction with the performance of the girl group during the Born Pink encore tour. They said it was awful and the perfection they exhibuted during the debut had dissipated.
