Dr Ghazal Srinivas honoured with Afghanistan Olympic Peace Medal

Vijayawada: Renowned Ghazal singer Dr. Ghazal Srinivas was honored with the prestigious Afghanistan Olympic Peace Medal by Afghan Olympic Association president Mr. Mohammad Zahir Aghbar during the former’s Shanthi Yatra in Afghanistan. Mr. Aghbar said Dr. Ghazal Srinivas was spreading the message of peace and friendship through his songs and programmes. He hoped that strife-torn Afghanistan would soon witness an atmosphere of peace.

At a programme held at the Indian Embassy, . Dr Ghazal Srinivas’ audio album “Salam-Bogo” was launched by Indian Ambassador Manpreeth Vohra and the video songs of the album were launched by Honourable Afghanistan health minister Dr Firozuddin Firoz. Writer Fhazalhadi Kafphsani, Olympic Association secretary Dr. Yunus, Afghanistan Buzkashi president Dr. Akthari and Maiwand Bank chairman P.V.V. Ramaraju graced the function. Afghanistan film star Saleem Shahin felicitated Dr. Ghazal Srinivas with “Global Peace Award” for his album “Salam-Bogo”.
