Yellow fever song a big hit
As the yellow fever hits the crowd, the Manjappada theme song for Kerala Blasters is creating waves in the state. Manjappada, the biggest and the official fan club of Kerala Blasters, has launched the theme song that clearly reflects the fighting spirit of Malayalis. The crowd has gone gaga over the rising notes sung by Shabareesh Varma. He, who hogged the limelight with his ‘pista’ song, has nailed the theme song through his utterly perfect vocals making it an instant hit. The song has spread like wild fire crossing 90k views in YouTube. Penned by Manu Manjith and composed by Nikhil Thomas, the one minute 47 seconds video song is an instant energiser with the punch to send the ball flying.
It depicts the rising spirit which says that we might lose the game but never fails to win hearts. It is a positive booster with the right amount of sportsmanship. The fast number that holds the spirit of Kerala portrays the young impressionable minds running with a football accompanied by the right notes by Shabareesh. The actor, singer and lyricist have always hit the right notes. Most of his songs have been crowd-pullers and the theme song was his first attempt of singing in a high pitch.
“The song provides an instant energy to the listener and the lyrics too are good. The play of words is very rhythmic. Singing in a high pitch was a challenge but it was possible with four hours of practice,” says Shabareesh, who is overjoyed by the massive response. Asked about his favourite field, he says, “Singing and acting are like my two hands, both are equally important.” He is currently working on a movie that will be released next year.
The song transcends a zestful aura motivating the players and the crowd. It has a Malayali touch with the incessant beats of music symbolising the never-ending love for football. “The songs directly pierce into the heart of every Malayali, it unites our spirit making the team stronger than ever. It shows the never-give-up attitude of our team who will stride the path of success,” says Renju George, a football enthusiast.
