Eric Nyxx’s ‘More to Life’ brings the DJ-Producer’s passion alive
Music as an art form has been around since the dawn of time. As humans, we relate to sound and music as something which gives us freedom of expression. We listen to music to celebrate, to relax, to get motivated and sometimes to just get through the day or a long commute. The value of such a means of creative expression is unlimited.
DJ/Producer and entrepreneur Eric Nyxx has been inspired by music for as long as he can remember. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Eric was introduced to music by his parents at a young age. Influenced by artists such as Tiesto, ATB, Carl Cox, and Paul Van Dyks, Eric embraced music, making it the focal part of his life.
Growing up during such an exciting time for music certainly wore off on Eric. His work is inspired by late 1990s and early 2000s electronic dance with an edge he credits to appreciating rap artists like Eminem and 50 Cent. This unique combination of styles secured him a large following in cities like New York and Miami where he has performed at some of the country's top night clubs.
His first song "More to Life" released in 2018 rose to immediate popularity with its entrancing beat and fantastic vocals. "A good music producing session is all about the vibes," Eric explains. "There has to be great synergy and an overall good mood." Full of positive energy, Eric is the type of DJ with a distinctive style, and he consistently produces tracks that audiences love. "Anything you believe, you become," Eric states, and listeners can almost feel that coming through the music he creates.
Eric's passion runs deep. "Music is vital to me. I need music to fuel my thoughts. I need music to help inspire me and to motivate me. It is the most important thing to me, and that is why I am a DJ," he shares. While his first release is titled "More to Life" the title aptly parallels his own life. Eric leads a vibrant existence outside of music as well. A successful entrepreneur, Eric ran his own hospitality company, actively works on profitable real-estate ventures and is launching his own CBD company- XX CBD in September 2019.
Currently living in Miami, Florida, Eric ranks as one of the city's top DJ's and his style ranges from sub-genres like deep house, house, tech house, Afro-house, trap, techno, and hip hop. Née Eric Akopyan, Eric earned the nickname "Nyxx" while at Baruch College for his penchant for throwing parties and running nightclubs in New York. An accurate moniker for the ambitious DJ, Nyxx is known in history as the Greek goddess of the night.
When Eric is not in a nightclub or running one of his successful companies, he is continuously out there being creative and producing new music on Logic Pro. His music is currently available on Google Play Music, Spotify, and his YouTube channel.
