Open music style
Isn’t it cool to open a music start-up in the musical way? During the last Independence Day, five young music enthusiasts opened a one-of-its-kind start-up with a music album. The song Bajare also served as an opening call to The Born Vintage, a fledgling company that works towards a bigger aim — to promote upcoming musical talents.
Jayasoorya S.J., the composer in the team of five, says an effort of three months made them think of encouraging talents than trumpeting their own achievements.
“Ours is a digital start-up, while most of the start-ups deal with other business opportunities. Bajare is the first song of our venture. Our company is not about we ourselves doing all the music. If talented people approach us, we’d arrange for them the facilities to do songs and promote their music through our dedicated website. A line-up of sponsors is with us for this purpose. In between, we’d have a quality control mechanism to find the creme-de-la-creme of talents,” says Jayasoorya, who arrived at the music scene by composing and directing a promo song for Ivano fest, the inter-collegiate fest of Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram.
The debut album itself was composed to suit the diverse tastes of music lovers. “The song is a mix of classic, Hindustani, pop and folk genres. It is done in both Hindi and English languages so that many people can like it,” he says. Other members are Rahul Dev, Akhil S. Menon, Ermin Gerald D’Cruz and Aloysius.
“Ours is a motley group comprising a singer, director, composer, manager and website designer. All of us are from different walks of life and united for music,” adds Jayasoorya.
In the debut song Bajare, eight new artists have been introduced in vocals, song writing, music direction, rap song creation and background score. Currently in its soft operational stage, The Born Vintage plans to operate from Ernakulam.
