The music director even won the Best Music Director award in 2015 for a short film speaks up “When we started working on the music, we didn’t think about the response we would get. When I heard that Daye Saipa had made to the iTunes chart, at that moment I didn’t realise what a big deal it was because all music is on iTunes! Only later did it hit me. I celebrated the success with my friends and family who have always been supportive of me and my choices.”
Loy, along with his childhood friend Melwyn D’souza, are all set to release their very first multi-genre Hindi album Dosthi. “This has been our dream project for the past two years,” says Loy who was bent upon featuring new artistes.
“I wanted to encourage new talent because I know the struggle. It took a very long time for me to reach this stage because it’s hard to get the right platform. I understand the pains of a struggling artiste and hence wanted to feature fresh musicians who I think are incredibly talented,” says the musician who formed his own band Charitra, which recently performed in Dubai, and is all set for their next performance at Doha.
“We wanted a wider reach through our music, which is why we decided to make our album in Hindi. There are flavours of Konkani and Tulu in the music, which makes our album unique,” pipes in Melwyn D’souza, the lyricist of the album, in conclusion.
