Multi-city festival Fête de la Musique 2024 brings 3 global artists to India

Founded 41 years ago, Fête de la Musique has been embraced by numerous countries and cities worldwide to celebrate a shared love for music.

As part of the two-week cultural celebration Fête de la Musique 2024, three international music artists are set to enthral audiences in India from 14th to 30th June 2024. This vibrant music festival will feature a variety of concerts, workshops, and panel discussions across multiple cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Pune, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Trivandrum, and Pondicherry.
Organized by the Embassy of France in India, the French Institute in India (IFI), and the Alliance Française network, Fête de la Musique 2024 aims to explore the diverse musical landscape and foster dialogue between France and India.
Fête de la Musique, or World Music Day, was founded in 1982 by the then Minister of Culture of France, M. Jack Lang. Organized annually on 21st June - the summer solstice - this day aims to celebrate music in all its forms, with musicians of all levels, whether amateur or professional. It's a day dedicated to making music in various spaces such as streets, cafes, and concert halls, sharing the passion for music.
The 2024 edition of the festival will be entirely offline, offering a fully immersive in-person experience. Attendees can look forward to engaging live performances with the exciting artists' tour across India, featuring three exceptional talents: Akoda (Creole Jazz), GЯEG (Electronic Music), and Brö (Pop).
Valérie Chane Tef, hailing from Réunion Island, is a Creole jazz pianist who brings a captivating fusion of contemporary jazz infused with her rich cultural heritage. Her dazzling piano playing and her sense of creativity have propelled her onto the international stage, making her an indispensable figure in contemporary Creole jazz music. Under her ambitious project, Akoda, she boasts two acclaimed albums: "Muzik pou lo kèr" in 2019 and "Nout’Souk" in 2022, garnering international recognition. Her upcoming tour will grace prestigious venues such as the National School of Drama (Delhi), Indian Music Experience (Bangalore), and Clarks Amer (Jaipur).
Mauritius-born and Paris-based DJ and producer GЯEG has been a prominent figure in the club scene since 2019. Affiliated with the afro/avant-garde label Boukan Records and a resident at Paris’s LA CREOLE party and Rinse France web radio, his eclectic, high-energy sets have gained widespread acclaim across France and Europe. GЯEG has released two celebrated EPs: "Eau Coulée Smart City" (2021) and "Jazz Net" (2023). He will tour cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pondicherry, and Chandigarh.
Known for her bold and unique style, Brö blends singing and rapping to explore themes like desire and the usual preoccupations of the young generation. Elisa Brolli - her real name - draws on her diverse heritage from Algeria and Italy, infusing her lyrics with a mix of love and passion. Her raw, humorous writing challenges norms and reflects her background in law and criminology. Since releasing two EPs (Klaus in 2019 and Cassandre in 2021) and the album Grande in 2023, Brö has toured extensively, performing in France, Brussels, Montreal, and Oslo. She will visit venues such as the Tribal Museum (Bhopal), Bharat Bhavan (Trivandrum), and Alliance Française de Delhi.
