Now Balakrishna Eyes Pan-India Market
His next film ‘Akhanda 2’ is set to be his costliest, most ambitious film yet to go all out for a pan-India appeal

There’s no slowing down Nandamuri Balakrishna. The veteran star is taking things to the next level with Akhanda 2, which is reportedly being made on a staggering budget of `200 crore — the highest in his career so far.
According to industry sources, the makers are sparing no expense. Portions of the film have already been shot in visually rich locations such as the Himalayas and during the Maha Kumbh Mela, along with massive sets that reflect the film’s larger-than-life tone. A crucial schedule in Nepal, still pending, will involve thousands of VFX shots, adding significantly to the overall production cost.
Balakrishna’s last release, Daaku Maharaaj, was made on a `130 crore budget. But with Akhanda 2, the team is aiming higher — both creatively and commercially.
What sets this film apart is its clear intention to go pan-India. From dialogues tailored for Hindi audiences to themes rooted in Hindu spirituality and culture, Akhanda 2 is designed to resonate far beyond the Telugu-speaking belt.
Balakrishna’s fierce Aghora avatar, already a fan favourite, will once again take center stage. This time, the look and character are being refined for even greater spiritual depth and cinematic impact.
Having already captured audiences in the Telugu states and among the diaspora, Balakrishna is now targeting the Hindi belt with renewed vigor.
“This is Balakrishna’s most authentic pan-India film yet,” says a source. “With its universal themes, high production values, and his electrifying presence, Akhanda 2 is poised to leave a mark across the country.”
