Agar aap busy nahi hain, thodi baat karni hai, SRK to Jaideep Ahlawat
Actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma recently had an unforgettable experience as they received phone calls from none other than Shah Rukh Khan following the release of their latest film, Jaane Jaan. This pleasant surprise came during a recent conversation at the India Today Conclave, where they were joined by Jaane Jaan's director, Sujoy Ghosh.
During the discussion, Sujoy Ghosh mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan had reached out to Jaideep and Vijay to laud their performances in the film. The two actors then shared details of the memorable interaction, highlighting the graciousness of the Bollywood superstar.
According to Jaideep, Shah Rukh managed to obtain their contact numbers through Sujoy Ghosh, which eventually led to a phone call. Jaideep humorously recounted the moment and said, "That was the moment. He called me and said, 'Agar aap busy nahi hain thodi si baat karni hai, Shah Rukh bol raha hoon' (If you're not too busy, Shah Rukh wants to have a chat). I replied, 'Agar mujhe heart attack aaya, uske zimmedaar aap honge' (You will be responsible if I get a heart attack)."
Jaideep, who previously worked with Shah Rukh Khan in the 2017 film Raees, spoke of the superstar's generosity and fondly remembered their brief collaboration. He emphasized how unforgettable the experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan is and how it leaves a lasting impression. "I was fortunate enough to work with him in a very small part in Raees. It just happened; somebody else was cast in that role, and I was finalized at 11:30 in the night. Call time was 7 the next morning. I worked with him for four days, and it was the most amazing experience. You can’t describe working with Shah Rukh Khan, you have to experience it. The way he treats you, the way he talks to you, it’s so mesmerizing. He remembers everything; the day he called me, he was talking about Raees."
Jaideep expressed that working with Shah Rukh was the only instance when he felt star-struck and even admitted to being a bit "slow" during his first take with the megastar. Vijay Varma also chimed in, sharing his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, whom he sees as a remarkable figure who sets the bar high in all aspects of life. He emphasized that every interaction with Shah Rukh, even if it's just for a few seconds, leaves an indelible mark and touches the heart.
Jaane Jaan, an adaptation of the Japanese novel "The Devotion of Suspect X," stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role and was released on Netflix last month. It made its debut around the same time that Shah Rukh's "Jawan" was shattering box office records worldwide, ultimately grossing an impressive Rs 1100 crore globally.
