Director Mahi V Raghav thanks the audience for making Shaitan a huge success
After the motion poster and trailer of director Mahi V Raghav's crime web series Shaitan garnered great buzz, the show released with a tremendous opening numbers on Wednesday (June 15). Apparently, the show created a record of sorts for any regional show on an OTT platform.
Staying true to the show’s tagline, ‘What you call crime, they call it survival,’ the hard hitting show delves deep into the world of crime. On this occasion, the director wanted to thank the audience for making the show a super success.
“I really wanted to thank the audience for the resounding success. I have chosen this story to explore the world of crime which is an untouched genre. As a story teller I need to stay true to the universe and the characters and hence we had to use a few cuss words. Else, it would be like doing injustice to the story,” clarifies Mahi
Shaitan features – Bali (Rishi), Shelly (Savitri), Jayaprada (Deviyani) and Jaffer Sadiq (Gumti) – in principal characters. The show depicts the socio-political events that led to the rise and downfall of a criminal Bali and why his family chose the path of crime for their survival.
