Nagarjuna Akkineni is the host for Bigg Boss Telugu
The new season of Bigg Boss Telugu hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni kicked off on Sunday night. This marks Nagarjuna's sixth season as the host following the earlier seasons hosted by Jr NTR and Nani. The show introduced 14 contestants who will live together and compete in various tasks to increase the prize pool which has no upper limit this season.
In a surprising twist this season does not feature the usual captaincy or weekly ration provisions. Contestants entered the house in pairs and unlike previous seasons they will not automatically receive a weekly ration or gain immunity through captaincy. Instead they must earn both food and prize money through tasks.
One of the most anticipated contestants, Parameshwar Hivrale known for his role in the film Gummadi Narsaiah and a Filmfare nomination for Jathiya Rahadari in 2021 unexpectedly withdrew from the competition. Reports suggest that Parameshwar decided to step back just one day before the show's launch due to health issues. Although he is not part of the initial contestant lineup there is speculation that he might join later as a wild card contestant.
Despite Parameshwar's exit the confirmed participants have generated excitement among fans. The 14 contestants who entered the Bigg Boss house on Sunday include:
