Trisha Krishnan's debut web series “Brinda” Review Brings Intrigue and Suspense.

Finally, after three years of work, the highly awaited web series “Brinda” featuring south queen Trisha Krishnan has been released on Sony LIV. Find out from our review whether this much anticipated series meets expectations or not.

Story:

"Brinda" is a story about a girl named Brinda (Trisha Krishnan), who works as Superintendent of Police in Hyderabad and gets suspicious when a death is almost called a suicide. She decides to go against this view because her gut instincts tell her so leading her to shocking murder committed by another person. The more she looks into it, the more surprising information she uncovers about the mysterious killer himself and his reasons for committing these murders. Who kills? What drives his fatal spree? And why does Brinda have such deep interest in this case? These thrilling questions are answered in the course of this television program.

Plus Points:

In her first web series, Trisha Krishnan excels at portraying an impeccable police officer. Amazing performance with many emotional states that works really well when put in contrast with unexplained deaths storyline.

Ravindra Vijay performs brilliantly as Sarathi in supporting role who assists Brinda throughout the investigation process. With strong facial expressions which add depth to the series Anand Sami’s performance stands out.

On top of his substantial role portrayed by Rakendu Mouli, Indrajit (as Anand Kabir) and Jaya Prakash (as Brinda’s father) add value to the narrative through their acting. Supporting cast also plays a considerable part in overall story telling.

The show starts off on a high note attracting viewers immediately. Episodes one to four are done exceptionally well with audience remaining engaged due to great scripting, suspense building up and cliffhangers that make it hard for anyone watching stop soon enough. To top it all, the background score is amazing and contributes to an overall experience.

Minus Points:

However, parents may not like the series given that it’s violent. Most of the episodes have a strong screenplay except for some slow moving parts that could be short

The killer’s background story is overly long and needs cutting. In order for there to be no dragging after the villain is portrayed in the story, things should move faster. The story would have been better without too many twists since at times they didn’t make much sense.

Though the motive behind killing has come out clearly and a tight narrative formed, lack of emotional intensity in a few scenes especially in last episode could have made them stronger. Some of these episodes were drawn out because they were eight instead of six so as to pull more people into watching it.

Technical Aspects:

The technical aspects of “Brinda” are praiseworthy with good cinematography, music and production values reflecting the hard work put in by those working behind scenes however editing can be improved upon by trimming certain scenes where pacing is concerned.

Director Surya Manoj Vangala does an excellent job of creating an exciting experience that grips audiences from start to finish. This screenplay by Padmavathi Malladi compliments director’s narrative well enough.

Verdict:

My above all is a very well done web series among the latest releases. It is an engaging crime thriller whose suspense keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The show features strong performances from Trisha, Anand Sami, Indrajit and Ravindra Vijay and is aptly directed by Surya Manoj Vangala. However, there are some scenes that may not be suitable for family viewing and its long run time coupled with occasional sluggish moments would be liabilities for fans of shorter thrillers. For a well-laid out crime drama, “Brinda” is an excellent choice. Grab your popcorn, get comfortable and binge on this gripping series.
