Heeramandi: Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal on being trolled

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's OTT debut 'Heermandi: The Diamond Bazaar' has garnered a lot of attention for its story, elaborate costumes, stunning sets and star-studded cast but one cast member Sharmin Segal, who plays Alamzeb, has kept a low profile on the internet trolling. It happened in the middle of the game. Recently, Bhansali’s niece Sharmin opened up about the backlash.

Sharmin Segal on the criticism she faced for Heeramandi

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Sharmin described the mixed reception to Alamzeb’s photo. "Every creative person creates for an audience. They are a very important part of the creative journey, in the life of a creator because they also help you develop," she said.

Addressing the negativity, he added, “The negative brings positive. You have to take everything in and think it through, and understand what works for you and what doesn’t.”

Sharmin revealed that her character stands out from the others in the Alamzeb series because she doesn’t do Taweef (charity). "He is an integral part of the character and how I as an actor and Sanjay Sir as a director interpreted the character," she explained.

Sharmin is absolutely proud of the work she has done. "I gave my all to present a show to my audience. They have the right to express themselves, and in today's world it's very easy and convenient to do that," said the actress.
