Here are some updates from OTT space ranging from Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone starrer much awaited movie Kalki 2898 AD gearing up for its online premier to Kamal Haasan's action-thriller, Indian-2 struggling for a streaming deal.

Kalki 2898 AD Expected to Premiere Online in August

Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan's movie “Kalki 2898 AD” which was directed by Nag Ashwin had a strong beginning in the cinema world. This movie is set in a future that has become dystopian and stars Deepika Padukone as the lead. Amazon Prime Video will premiere it on August 23rd, according to reports. Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwathama, who is meant to protect Deepika’s character. The film makes appearances by such actors like SS Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan.

Ramy Youssef Signs First-Look Deal with Netflix

Comedian and actor Ramy Youssef has signed a first-look deal with Netflix. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Youssef will be making content for his production firm under these terms while Netflix has the first option of streaming it. This follows his previous work with Mo on the platform which is currently shooting its second season.

Trisha Krishnan’s Brinda Now Streaming

On Friday Trisha Krishnan’s Telugu series "Brinda" was released on Sony Liv. In this crime suspense-thriller movie starring Krishnan as she unfolds the mystery behind serial killings; Indrajith Sukumaran and Ravindra Vijay do appear too.

Dune Part 2 Available for Weekend Binge

The sequel to dystopian science fiction epic ‘Dune’ can now be watched on Jio Cinema. The film came out on August 2nd continuing Paul Atreides’ story further as he teams up with Chani and Fremen for revenge against those responsible for wiping out his family.

Indian 2 Faces OTT Delay

Kamal Haasan’s "Indian 2" did not perform as well as expected at the box office and now OTT release has been postponed. Reportedly, Netflix bought the film for an expensive price of 250 crores INR but according to English Jagran, it has not made up its mind about releasing it yet and has asked for a refund of the 75 crore INR advance. The planned release date was August 9th, but this is uncertain.

Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie Brings Back SpongeBob

It was on August 2nd that "Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie," which is the latest movie in SpongeBob SquarePants franchise, was premiered. This animated adventure tells the story of what happened when Bikini Bottom suddenly disappeared from the ocean and Sandy together with SpongeBob had to go back to Texas.
