Film fans in Malayalam have something to shout about as the most expected thriller Thalavan is making its debut on an OTT platform. SonyLIV subscribers will be able to stream the film from September 12, 2024. Thalavan is also designed for seven languages; Malaya, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi and Marathi.
The main character of Thalavan is Udhayabhanu who is an ex-police man narrating his stories of life as a television program. This movie narrows down into one case - ‘Chepanamthota’- which unravels complex power dynamics and hierarchy that exist within police force. Moreover it explores themes of revenge thereby leaving audience with a lot to think about. Despite the film’s flaws, it offers an interesting watch different from others in its category. The length of this movie is two hours thirteen minutes and still holds the attention of people who continue watching it providing a compelling story that does not get dragged.
Directed by Jis Joy, this film features an amazing cast including Biju Menon, Asif Ali, Miya George and Anusree among others. Interestingly enough there are solid performances while this well-executed cop drama remains highly recommended if you’re interested.
