Prabhas' action-packed blockbuster Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire shattered box office records and has now achieved a rare milestone in the digital space. Following its phenomenal theatrical run, the Telugu action entertainer has been trending continuously on OTT for an impressive 366 days.
Expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming response, Prabhas shared, "Overwhelmed by the love for Salaar: Ceasefire on Jio Hotstar! Can't wait to set foot in Khansaar soon."
Hombale Films, the makers of Salaar, also celebrated this remarkable achievement on social media, stating, "A reign like never before... #Salaar has been trending on @JioHotstar and dominating for a year."
Adding to its record-breaking journey, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire created waves with its Hindi TV premiere, drawing a staggering 30 million viewers. After amassing over ₹500 crore at the box office, the film continues to reign as one of the top trending titles on OTT.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film features an ensemble cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and Sriya Reddy.
The gripping storyline revolves around Deva (Prabhas), the exiled prince of Khansaar, and Varadha (Prithviraj Sukumaran), its reigning prince. As political conspiracies unfold, Varadha turns to Deva for help in reclaiming his throne from his father’s ministers and power-hungry relatives. Interestingly, the film's initial concept traces back to Prashanth Neel’s debut film, Ugramm.
With the resounding success of Part 1, anticipation is soaring for the sequel, Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam. Slated for release in 2026, the next installment in this high-octane franchise has fans eagerly awaiting its arrival.
