Puri Jagannadh and Warangal Srinu Resolve Dispute, Double iSmart Set for August 15 Release

There were many reports that distributor Warangal Srinu who suffered losses with Puri Jagananth’s last film ‘Liger’ would stop the release of Puri Jagannath’s upcoming film ‘Double iSmart’ on August 15. “Puri has assured to pay some compensation and Warangal Srinu would not take up any protests and would allow the release of ‘Double iSmart’. It was small issue between these two and it is almost sorted,’ says a top distributor who says, “Puri next film ‘Double iSmart’ is one of the much-awaited films and expected to draw big openings since their earlier film ‘iSmart Shankar’ was a blockbuster,’ he adds.

Last year, filmmaker Puri Jagannadh filed a complaint against distributor Warangal Srinu for instigating distributors against him. In the complaint, the director alleged that Warangal Srinu has defaulted on the amount he is supposed to pay the sub-distributors for the film Liger. The complaint further accuses Warangal Srinu of instigating other distributors against the director to hide this.

There was also an audio clip of Puri Jagannadh that has gone viral on social media, in which the filmmaker can be heard saying that he doesn’t owe anyone money. He further added that he will compensate the distributors who are not going to protest against him.

Right now, things have been worked out and all the issues between the two have been addressed. “Puri and Srinu had a good chat and things are going to be smooth and hassle-free,’ he concludes.
