Payal Rajput's Rakshana Review, Rating
Movie: Rakshana
Cast: Payal Rajput, Maanas, Rajeev Kanakala, Chakrapani Ananda and others
Director: Prandeep Thakore
Payal Rajput stars as the fearless ACP Kiran in this crime thriller inspired by true events. The story revolves around a serial killer who targets and murders successful women without leaving any trace. Kiran, a bold and determined police officer, takes it upon herself to bring the killer to justice.
In the journey to catch the killer, she faces barriers from the family as well as from the police department but that does not slow her down. Despite these barriers, Kiran remains undeterred, driven by a fierce determination to protect other women from becoming the next victims. As the plot unfolds, the film delves into the killer's past, revealing the traumatic events that turned him into a murderer. The climax of the movie hinges on a tense showdown between ACP Kiran and the killer
Payal Rajput delivers a good performance as ACP Kiran. She breaks through societal and institutional barriers to uphold justice. Although it's a crime thriller movie, you won't be getting the edge-of-the-seat feeling. The first half ends with revealing the serial killer but what holds the audience to the second half would be the reason behind the motive.
The movie does not fully deliver the gripping tension expected from a crime thriller. Overall the movie is a decent outing which contains drama and social messages
Rating: 3/5
