Raveena Tandon to play negative role in her next Telugu film?
Amidst Bollywood stars like Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan and Bobby Deol essaying negative roles in Tollywood, it is now the turn of pretty Hindi actress Raveena Tandon to showcase her evil side in her upcoming Telugu film 'Jatadhara'. "Raveena Tandon will be a surprise casting in our magnum opus and she would be seen in an altogether new avatar," says director Venkat Kalyan who adds, "When I narrated the story to her, she truly liked the concept and her path-breaking role and agreed to play the role with negative shades. Our supernatural thriller would be a direct conflict between Sudheer Babu and Raveena Tandon and it takes the audience on a new high," he adds
Earlier, Raveena Tandon has worked in Telugu films and shared screen space with Nagarjuna(Akasa Veedhilo), Balakrishna (Bangaru Bullodu) and Vinod Kumar in 'Radha Saradhi'. She was last seen in Telugu film "Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda," almost a decade ago. "She is making a comeback after a gap," he adds.
Tollywood makers cast male Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt who showcased his menacing side in 'Double iSmart', while Saif Ali Khan would be seen in a rustic and ruthless role in 'Devara'. Bobby Deol would be taking on mighty Balakrishna in his 109th film being directed by Bobby Kolli. 'I know big Bollywood stars doing dark roles in Tollywood. But I had no choice but to reach out to a Bollywood diva due to the requirements of my script. No doubt, she would showcase her fiery side and look quite menacing in the new-age thriller which is meant to cater to pan-India viewers,", he concludes .
