Actress Regina Cassandra is banking on her next Telugu film ‘Utsavam’ opposite Dilip Prakash. She is looking pretty in the trailers and playing love interest to the protagonist. “She will be looking for a comeback in Tollywood,’ says a source, who claims that “Regina was busy in Telugu movies some time ago and did varied movies,” he adds. She was seen in films like ‘Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga’, ‘Ra Ra Krishnaya’ and tasted success with Ravi Teja in ‘Power’ and Sai Dharam Tej in ‘Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham’. “She also worked with Gopichand in ‘Soukyam’ and ‘Shaurya’ with Manchu Manoj was a sought-after actor for young actors,” he adds.
She also grooved to a racy number ‘Saana Kashtam’ with Chiranjeevi in ‘Acharya’ and did a period drama ‘1945’ with Rana Daggubati and showcased her variety. “Regina couldn’t taste success with her author-backed role in ‘Saakini Daakini’ and the film tanked at the box office and her efforts in action sequences went unnoticed,’ he points out.
She was busy in Tamil films and also worked in Bollywood films like ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ but big success was eluding her. "She moved to digital space and acted in web series like ‘Rocket Boys’ and ‘Farzi’ and played an author-backed role in ‘Janbaaz Hindustan Ke’, essaying the role of a tough NIA officer who is determined to eradicate terrorism and burst bomb blast plans,” he points out.
With other actresses like Trisha, Raashi Khanna and Priyanka Mohan returning to tollywood to gain some space, Regina is also giving it a shot. "Regina has a good chance to grab few more Telugu offers," he concludes.
