According to distributors, superstar Prabhas starrrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is set to be released on June 27 and could be released in over 800-odd theatres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.”It will have the biggest release in recent times and much higher than ‘Salaar,’ says a distributor who adds, “Distributors are planning to release in 800 theatres and it would touch 900 as well since the film had triggered enough hype in two Telugu states,” he adds. “It will surely restore the glory of the theatre viewing experience in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and exhibitors would overcome their bad run,” he points out
“Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin have joined hands to dish out a unique and different magnum opus. The audience is looking forward to it. Also, Prabhas's stardom is at its peak and it would be a money-spinner world over for its novel storyline besides the enviable casting of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Deepika Padukone, and others. Riding on its craze, Telugu distributors bought the sci-fi thriller for Rs 180 crore in the two Telugu states,” he adds.
Confirming the same, distributor-exhibitor Sunil Narang who reportedly bought Telangana rights for Rs 70 crores, added, “I can’t talk about the price but I assure you that theatres will be back in business with Kalki. Telugu audiences love to watch star-studded and larger-than-life movies, so we are planning to release the movie in a maxmum number of theatres in Telangana to draw big collections. Our Andhra distributors are also confident and drawing up similar plans,” he concludes
