Saiee Manjrekar’s Transformation for Telugu Period Drama India House
Actress Saiee Manjrekar, known for her roles in Bollywood films like Dabangg 3 and Kuch Khatta Ho Jaaye, is stepping into a new avatar for her upcoming Telugu film India House. Paired opposite Nikhil Siddharth, Saiee takes on a pivotal role in this period drama set in 1905.
Producer Abhishek Agarwal, who is co-producing the film with star Ram Charan, highlighted Saiee’s traditional and retro makeover. “She plays a unique role, and her traditional avatar perfectly complements the film’s 1905 setting,” he said. The producer also hinted at the film’s rich historical and cultural themes, which blend elements of love and revolution.
A Collaboration Born from Serendipity
Abhishek Agarwal revealed the collaboration with Ram Charan came through an unexpected series of events. “During discussions with mutual friends about my next film, I mentioned this period saga. Ram Charan showed interest after hearing about it and spared time for a story narration. Director Ram Vamsi Krishna’s detailed narration impressed him, and he immediately agreed to join the project,” he shared.
The Plot and Key Highlights
Set against the backdrop of 1905, India House explores themes of love and revolution. The love story between Nikhil Siddharth’s and Saiee Manjrekar’s characters is expected to be a major highlight of the film. Veteran actor Anupam Kher also has a significant role, adding gravitas to the project.
Described as one of Tollywood’s costliest ventures, India House is being positioned as a pan-India film with universal appeal. “It’s a perfect pan-India movie, with a theme that resonates universally and strikes a chord with audiences across the world,” said Abhishek Agarwal.
A Magnum Opus in the Making
With its high production values, captivating storyline, and a strong cast, India House promises to be a visual and emotional spectacle. Saiee Manjrekar’s transformation and the collaboration between Abhishek Agarwal and Ram Charan underscore the ambitious scale of this project, which is set to leave a mark on the Telugu film industry and beyond.
