Her earlier film with Telugu superstar Nani, who is fondly called the Natural Star in Tollywood, turned out to be the big break that she was looking for. Now, she is on a high as she has signed another Telugu biggie. Bengaluru beauty Rukshar Dhillon is kicked about her next flick titled ABCD, in which she stars opposite Allu Sirish. Having begun shooting for the movie, the actress gets candid with us about her work, her friendship with KL Rahul and more….
“After Krishnarjuna Yuddham, I got quite a few offers, but after doing a Nani film, I had to be selective and make the right choice for my career to progress, and that’s when ABCD happened. In fact, it’s funny how people online were posting messages saying that Sirish and I would look good together in the movie and the following week, I was doing a reading for the same project,” smiles Rukshar.
Her role in the film, which is a remake of the Malayalam flick ABCD, is unlike her character in her previous movie, where she played an extrovert.
“In ABCD, my character Neha is reserved, not very open to making new friends and doesn’t trust people too easily. For me to get into the role, I had to work on a confident, yet reserved body language. The balance needed to be shown effortlessly,” she reveals. As for working with Sirish, the actress shares that the Tollywood actor is a chilled out, easy-going bloke and easy to get along with. “He’s very energetic and that rubs off on you and everyone on the sets too,” says Rukshar.
As for her workout routine, the Bengaluru girl recently took up the fitness challenge given to her by her friend Rashmika Mandanna. The two actresses are often spotted interacting on social media and showering appreciation on each other. “We all hung out at our DOP Karan’s wedding, so I know Rashmika through that. Since she’s also doing Telugu films, we meet at award ceremonies and I recently bumped into her at the airport too. She is really sweet and always comments on my pictures,” shares the Punjabi kudi.
Another friendship of Rukshar’s that’s grabbed eyeballs is the one she has with cricketer KL Rahul. The actress finds it rather amusing when people term the two of them new friends and reveals, “I’ve known him for the past six years – even before he became famous and even before I thought of getting into acting, but no one talked about it as no one knew us! We all have a group of common friends and recently attended cricketer Karan Singhvi’s engagement – that’s when we were spotted together. In fact, we met after a long time –we’re really good friends and I know some people might not believe us, but I can’t go and convince everyone about it! If I really like someone, I wouldn’t deny it. In fact, when I saw the news about us, I wanted to put up a really old picture of ours where both of us were super skinny and say we aren’t ‘new friends’, but we chose to ignore it,” quips the actress.
