It’s well-known that Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar has a huge fan following. Even on social media, these fervent fans have created fan clubs in Puneeth's name and keep updating the rest of the fans about their favourite actor’s films and other activities.
But now, all these zealous fans have gotten together on Twitter and have decided to quit the social media platform until Puneeth joins the networking site.
His fans known as Abhimani Devarus have also written an open letter to the star.
“We have waited really long for Appu Sir to join Twitter. In a lot of interviews, he has mentioned that he will join social media, but that doesn’t happen. Many fans ask us when Appu is joining and we’ve been dealing with these questions for two years now. We are not able to handle the fans’ questions anymore. So all the fan clubs together have collectively taken the decision to go offline until he joins Twitter,” says the Akshay NR, the admin of Team Puneeth.
Numerous other fan clubs too have put forth their request to the actor. “A lot of actors are on Twitter, even the new ones. All of them interact and connect with their fans. We want to have that opportunity too,” says one of the admins of Puneeth Rajkumar FC.
But these fans maintain that they don’t want to intrude on the actor’s privacy. “I know everyone wants personal space and we respect that. If Appu comes to Twitter, many of his fans too will join and we all can connect with each other through him. This will help in trending Kannada films on the networking platform,” he adds. When we spoke to Puneeth’s manager, he said, “He’s not too active on social media. But he will join Twitter, however, it will take time — maybe one or two months.”
