Megha-Chiru maduve!
Days after they said “yes,” after exchanging vows at St Anthony’s Church in namma Bengaluru, star couple — Meghana Raj and Chirranjeivi Sarjaa got married as per Hindu traditions on Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by close family members, and friends in the film industries, mostly from the Kannada and Malayalam fraternity.
The marriage ceremony was held at White Petals in Palace Grounds. Meghana looked beautiful in a traditional cream and bluish-green and gold bordered Kanjeevaram saree while Chiru sported a golden turban in a cream silk dhoti and kurta.
On Sunday, the wedding was held at a church as Pramila Joshai, the mother of Meghana Raj, is a Catholic, while her father MK Sunder Raj is an Iyengar Hindu. Actor Chiranjeevi Sarja is the nephew of renowned actor Arjun Sarja.
Infact, Chiru’s grandfather Shakthi Prasad is a well-known actor in the Kannada film industry who has shared the screen with almost every star actor in the past.
Chiranjeevi’s parents Ammaji and Vijay Kumar, his star brother Dhruva Sarja, his uncle Arjun Sarja, family members and several film stars attended the mahurat which was scheduled between 10.30 am to 11 am on Wednesday in mithuna lagna as per the Hindu calendar.
The couple has always been open about their relationship (as best friends) before they got engaged last year.
The wedding of Chirranjeivi Sarjaa and Meghana Raj saw a bevy of stars in attendance. Senior actors Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Ramakrishna, Girija Lokesh, Shivaram, Sudha Belawadi and her daughter Samyukta Hornad came to bless the couple.
A huge line of star guests are expected to attend the grand reception scheduled to be held at the venue. While Meghana Raj has acted in several Kannada films, she is more popular in Malayalam films and Chirranjeivi, who made his debut with Vayuputra has acted in hit films like Aatagara, Chandralekha and the latest one being Aake.
