New nakshtra in Sandalwood!
An engineer turned actor, he has rightfully earned his fame with a right blend of acts, both on the small and big screen. Jayaram Karthik alias JK, the handsome hunk rose to fame with the popular TV soap Ashwini Nakshatra, and his performance in the movie Kempe Gowda gave him the much needed break.
Thereafter, the actor has worked hard to cement his place in the industry. After recently playing the epic role of Raavan in Siya Ke Ram, a mythological mega drama in Hindi TV, JK returned for a Kannada reality show and post the show, the actor is now awaiting the release of three Kannada movies even as he is busy shooting for one more. That’s not all, he even has signed three big projects in Hindi, all playing lead, which are soon to go on the floors. JK shares with Bengaluru Chronicle all about his passion, his new avatar as a story teller and more.
Presently, the actor is awaiting the release of his films — May 1st, Karala Ratri, Puta 109, apart from shooting for the film Warrant.
“I started shooting for the film May 1st even before I ventured into the Kannada version of Bigg Boss. I have so far shot for three films which are ready for release. All of them incidentally revolve around a unique tale of ‘suspense’. It’s a wonderful phase in my career. I have three films in Bollywood, wherein I play the lead. I can only talk about them after some days when they get launched,” says Karthik.
Also, the actor has turned into a story writer, worked on the screenplay of his upcoming release May 1st. The actor reveals that after his mega venture playing Raavan in the Hindi serial, he waited for some good opportunities in the Kannada industry but with no worthy projects coming across, he started penning a few stories and May 1st is one among them.
“The film is based on the story which I have penned. It’s about an actor and also involves a ghost, which is not a threatening one. All of the upcoming movies have good scripts. None of them are about heroism and tale plays the crucial factor. I am looking forward to them,” he adds.
Insofar his Bigg Boss experience, JK says, “Honestly speaking, it was an unproductive stay for me in the house. I only realised that it was not a reality show but a fake show.”
The actor plays the lead in Karala Ratri directed by Dayal Padmanabhan, opposite Anupama. Both of them contestants along in Bigg Boss. The film is set in the 80s with suspense revolving around a particular dark night.
Even in the case of Puta 109, it’s a crime suspense thriller, wherein the page number 109 is missing from the case diary.
