During one of his recent trips to the United States, actor Shivarajakumar Shivanna developed an ache in his right shoulder, following which he was advised to undergo a thorough check-up. The doctors recommended a minor surgery, which was performed in London on Wednesday, after he flew to the UK accompanied by his better half Geetha and his younger brother Puneeth. Several fan associations across the state organised special pooja and prayers for the long life and speedy recovery of their favourite actor.
“We love and admire Shivanna, not just because he is an actor but for his simplicity and the great human being he is. Our association as well as various others have arranged for special prayers and pujas in temples and other worshipping places for Shivanna’s good health and speedy recovery. We at Gavipuram Guttahalli Shiva Temple had arranged for a maha mruthyunjaya homa and gana homa in the presence of Raghavaendra Rajkumar. Since it’s Shivanna’s birthday, we are holding several charity programmes, including a blood donation drive,” says Santhosh, a Shivanna fan.
Before leaving for London, Shivarajakumar had expressed his disappointment at not being able to spend his birthday surrounded by his fans this year. “It is my fans who make my birthdays very special. They come and meet at my place every year without fail, but this time I will be away. I will be missing them as much as they are going to miss me. I will forever cherish their unconditional love and support,” said Shivanna.
It is learnt that he has been further advised rest for three months, due to which the actor will be missing in action from shooting. During a recent event, Shivanna had announced that since he is advised this rest, he will spend such time with his family members and visit holy shrines with them across the country. “I will also take the time to watch some good movies which I was unable to do it due to my busy work schedule,” he is reported to have said.
His fans blessings keep him going, apart from state-of-the-art medical care. For example, four years ago, the actor was admitted to Mallya Hospital after he complained of post-exercise pain on the right side of his body. A sea of fans had gathered in front of the hospital wishing him a speedy recovery and only left the place after he personally addressed them through the window of the hospital!
This is why, though Shivanna is still recovering, he and his younger brother Puneeth will be live on social media for a short while today to express their gratitude to their fans. The fans meanwhile are eagerly awaiting this glimpse of him on his birthday, albeit a digital one.
