Rishab Shetty Unveils Riveting First Look and Teaser for 'Kantara Chapter 1
Mangaluru: The excitement in the air is palpable as Rishab Shetty drops a tantalizing sneak peek into his highly anticipated 'Kantara Chapter 1.' With a mesmerizing poster showcasing the transformed look of Shetty and a heart-pounding 1.22-minute first look video, the movie is already making waves, having clocked a staggering 34.83 lakh views within just five hours of the video release.
In the video, adorned with Rudraksha Malas, Rishab's character brandishes a trident in one hand, an axe in the other, and a sword at his waist. The bloodstains, 'ignited eyes,' scattered weapons, and lifeless bodies nearby hint at a fierce battle, suggesting the protagonist possesses superhuman abilities. The clip and poster serve as a tantalizing glimpse into what promises to be a special cinematic experience in the highly awaited prequel to the successful Kantara.
Rishab Shetty's Kantara, released last year, emerged as a blockbuster, transcending language barriers with dubbed versions in various South Indian languages, Hindi, and English. The narrative of Kantara centered around the worship of divine spirits, namely 'Panjurli' and 'Guliga.' Now, the production house Hombale Films and Director Rishab Shetty are embarking on the second installment, a prequel named 'Kantara Chapter 1,' signifying the genesis of the Kantara saga.
Interestingly the team has not mentioned it as Kantara-2 but Kantara Chapter 1.
Hombale Films has unveiled a poster and a 1.22-minute video, showcasing Rishab's new look in upcoming movie. The video begins with a scene from the first part and seamlessly transitions into a glimpse of the prequel, with subtitle stating, "During the Reign of Kadambas, a legend was born," hinting at an intriguing historical, traditional backdrop. Notably, the Kadambas were famous as the first Kannada rulers, adding a layer of historical richness to the narrative.
The movie, slated for release in seven languages—Kannada, English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam—has already ignited curiosity among viewers. The video has left audience speculating about its connection to the origins of the Daivaradhane (worship of Godly Spirits) and its potential ties to Kantara.
The clip has already set a record of sort, garnering 34,83,366 views in just 5 hours.
The Muhurtha ceremony for the movie took place today at Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple, echoing the divine start that marked the beginning of the Kantara saga.
Speaking to reporters, Rishab expressed gratitude for the success of the first installment and shared plans for the prequel. "I hold deep reverence for Lord Ganesh at Anegudde. Vijay Kirangaduru is also a frequent visitor. We conducted the Muhurtha ceremony here for Kantara, and, once again, we will commence our work after seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The shooting is set to commence next month," he said.
In the movie, the team will dive deep into the past. Remaining tight-lipped about the storyline, Rishab emphasized the team's commitment to quality work. While the video clip and poster offer a glimpse, he asserted that the movie would unfold its narrative gradually.
"More local faces will get a chance in the movie," Rishab added, emphasizing the importance of action over words in this cinematic endeavor.
