Pailwaan is on the way to China
Mumbai: Even as Kichcha Sudeepa's latest blockbuster movie 'Pailwaan' which is running to packed houses despite facing initial hiccups due to piracy, the makers of the film are overjoyed for having approached by the official film distributors in China.
If everything goes according to the plan, Pailwaan is set to become the first-ever project made in Kananda and released in multiple languages, to be released in China.
"Yes, we have been approached by the distributors in China and the process of the necessary paperwork for the same has already begun. It is the first step in the process since distribution and screening of films in China is governed by the government officials only," says director Krishna.
It is learnt that the official distributors in Chinese have shown interest in the movie as it is based on sports and it appeals to the younger generation especially the children which inspires them in taking up sports.
Previously, there were talks that KGF's first chapter directed by Prashanth Neel starring Yash would be released in China but the team stayed mum on the further stage of the process of releasing it in China. If Pailwaan gets a green signal, it will be the first Kannada based project to be released in China.
Sources reveal that it takes a good three to six months and sometimes even a year for a foreign film to be released in China after the due process are finalised by the local government there.
Insofar as Sudeepa, his next mega venture Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy featuring Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi in the lead, along with some of the 'big' names from the Indian film industry, is hitting the screens next week.
