Snap Celebrates The Timeless Legacy of The Beatles in Augmented Reality

The lens offers Snapchatters a musical journey at the heart of one of the most influential musical and enduring cultural legacies of all time.

Snap’s AR Studio Paris today unveils a groundbreaking augmented reality experience that recreates four iconic moments inspired by The Beatles’ visual and musical evolution. The lens offers Snapchatters a musical journey at the heart of one of the most influential musical and enduring cultural legacies of all time. This activation celebrates the band’s impact by combining creativity, cutting-edge AR technology and some of the most beloved songs of all time, allowing Snapchatters to revisit the styles and songs that continue to shape generations.

The experience playfully transforms people across The Fab Fours’ artistic and stylistic evolution. Upon launching the Lens, Snapchatters discover one of three iconic Beatles tracks - Hey Jude, Here Comes the Sun, or Let It Be. The selected song then accompanies them throughout the experience as they navigate between the band members and their four major eras. At each stage, Snap’s augmented reality reinterprets the group’s aesthetic codes through stylistic transformations and musical transitions, capturing the essence of their evolution.
The project highlights Snap’s unique ability to bring culture to life through augmented reality, merging iconic heritage with technological innovation. By leveraging its most advanced tools, Snap’s AR Studio Paris succeeds in recreating the aesthetic and energy of the different Beatles eras while offering a deeply personal experience.
This activation relies on AR technologies that enable unprecedented realism:
● Gaussian Splat, to faithfully reproduce the band’s iconic hairstyles and silhouettes
● AR Lip-Sync, to precisely synchronize vocal performances and heighten the sense of embodiment
● 3D Garment Morphing, to transform outfits in real time and reflect the visual evolution of the band
With these innovations, Snap’s AR Studio Paris delivers an experience no other platform can offer. It reinforces Snapchat as a space where cultural icons find a new form of expression - more interactive, more emotional, and distinctly contemporary.
“Our ambition with this project was to demonstrate how augmented reality can breathe new life into the cultural icons that have shaped our collective memory. Experiencing the Beatles in AR is a reminder that this technology doesn’t just tell a story - it allows people to step into it. We are proud to use our technology to carry forward a timeless legacy and share it with every generation.” Antoine Gilbert, Head of AR Studio Paris, Snap Inc.

How Does It Work?
Snapchatters around the world can launch the Lens by following these steps:
Open the Snapchat app, select the Lens "The Fab Four" available in the Lens carousel or scan the Lens’ Snapcode.
As soon as the Lens activates, you appear in the looks—starting with John, then moving through Paul, George, and Ringo.
Turn on sound when prompted: the music begins, and ML lip-sync automatically makes you sing one of their iconic songs:
Let it be
○ Here Comes The Sun
○ Hey Jude
After the final excerpt, the experience loops automatically so you can revisit all four eras.
You can then share your transformation with friends, send it as a Snap, or post it to your Story!
Through this experience, Snap’s AR Studio Paris helps Snapchat Users experience The Beatles’ world through an innovative Lens, enabling everyone to explore the group’s s styles, sounds, and boundless creativity as though they were part of them.
