Tamil star Vijay declines Simran’s production plans?
If Chennai sources are to be believed, Tamil superstar Vijay politely declined an offer from actor-turned-producer Simran. “Actress Simran wanted to make a big ticket film with Vijay and approached him for dates,” says a source and adds, “However, Vijay advised her against the plan and claimed that these days productions have become very tough and budgets are going board and advised her to drop those plans and enjoy her life,” he adds.
Vijay had shared screen space with pretty actress Simran in Tamil movies like "Thulathamanam Thullum’ and ‘Priyamanavale’ two decades ago. She made a comeback of sorts with special roles in Rajinkinath’s ‘Petta’ and Prashanth's film ‘Andhagan’. ‘Simran has to bet money on new-age movies, rather than investing big on star-studded movies since digital and satellite rates have crashed and she has to play it safe,” the source adds.
Simran was a name to reckon with in Tollywood after making her debut with the blockbuster ‘Kalisumdam Raa’ in 2000. “She worked with big stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh to carve a niche for herself in Telugu movies. She was known for glam-centric roles and few performance-centric roles in films like 'Daddy,” he concludes.
