Akansha Sharma spills the beans on her marriage
“My mother-in-law Shabnam Singh was a control freak,” says Akansha Sharma — the latest Bigg Boss 10 evictee as she opens up about why she walked out of her troubled marriage with Yuvraj Singh’s younger, brother Zorawar. She may have entered the reality show as a commoner, but Akansha Sharma is not exactly one. She made headlines when she accused her famous in-laws of harassment and walked out of her marriage.
Opening up in an interview done right after her eviction, Akansha gave some insights on her marriage. “When women get married, they share a bond with not just the husband, but his whole family. My mother-in-law Shabnam Singh was a very dominating woman. She has old values and thinks that her bahu is a maid. She was a control freak and used to control my husband’s life. He wasn’t even allowed to have friends. She always wanted me to dance to her tunes. Since I came from a family that treated husband and wife as equals, the atmosphere was very contradicting to my beliefs and shocked me out of my wits. I never got love and support from my husband and there was no relationship between us.”
Akansha further continues, “Unless you stand for yourself, nobody will. I am not bitter, but I will never go back to that house. I have never spoken against the family and I will never attack Shabnam Singh’s dignity but I don’t support the kind of woman she is and all that she represents.”
