Pooja Banerjee is currently seen as the bubbly Noorie opposite young gun Anshuman Malhotra in the latest mythological offering Nagarjun — Ek Yoddha.
While her character is meant to bring in the romance, the actress is also required to deliver a few action-packed sequences on her own without the help of a body double.
Recently, while filming a key action sequence, Pooja had to drive a jeep on a narrow winding road and while doing so she encountered a brake-fail scare.
Reveals a source, “Pooja will be seen driving a jeep in an upcoming episode and she is not someone who is familiar with driving. In fact, she had to take driving lessons to be able to do the scene.However, even after a week’s training she was not feeling too confident about pulling it off. But after much coaxing, Pooja mustered up all her courage and decided to shoot the sequence without delaying it any further. What followed was a nightmarish drive. Thankfully, she managed to complete the shoot bravely handling the brake-fail scare well and we were all relieved that she came out of it safe.”
Confirming the scary incident, Pooja says, “Initially, I was sitting next to the driver and noticed the ease with which he was driving. But when I had to take his place, it was a nightmare. I realised that the brakes were loose and it wasn’t easy driving on a narrow winding road with a camera crew in the car, filming my reactions. It was such a task pressing the brakes and I was so petrified of banging into someone, as there were so many cars around. But we managed to pull it off somehow and I don’t wish to be part of anything like that ever again.”
