Cause she's always a woman to me'

The television men talk about the women who have made a huge impact in their life.

They work in an industry that is largely dominated by women. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the television men talk about the women who have made a huge impact in their life.

Shashank Vyas: My mom is my woman of substance. She was my guide. On Women’s Day, I want to salute every woman because being a woman is not at all easy. They play so many roles in their lives. A house is just a house but it takes a woman to make it a home.

Gunjan Utreja: Mary Kom stood against all odds in a completely male-dominated sport. I happened to interact with her during an event, months after she won the gold medal. A lot had changed around her but she remained unaffected. She was humble, grounded and gracious. I am inspired by her dedication towards her dreams and family. And saw it first hand at that event — off-stage she was only a mother and on stage, a champion. That meeting with her changed my perception about life too. We have one life — either we live our dreams or continue to give excuses.

Mohammad Nazim: My onscreen mother Kokila aka Rupal Patel is woman of substance for me. The way she has resurrected her career is simply amazing. She carries our show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya on her shoulders. On Women’s Day, I would like to take her for a candle light dinner just to tell her that she is truly an inspiration and a very special woman.
