A lot can happen over coffee
The sizzling chemistry between Kalash... Ek Vishwaas lead couple Krip Suri and Aparna Dixit has made them quite a sensation on TV. Whenever the pair comes on screen, it is sheer fireworks and the audience is left asking for more.
The couple credits their off screen camaraderie for their effortless on screen equation. In a free wheeling chat the hit jodi tell us about their journey and more… So, how did the ice break when you met the first time on the sets?
Krip: We were shooting for a rain sequence and were both drenched.
Aparna was shivering and I was having coffee at that moment to beat the cold. I offered her my coffee and that’s how we became friends. I know it sounds very filmi but our friendship happened this way.
Aparna: Yes, that’s exactly what happened. So basically it’s a coffee connection between us.
Was it awkward filming romantic scenes initially?
Krip: I believe when it comes to acting, nothing should make you feel awkward.
Aparna: Before the shoot, I thought it would be really awkward. But my friendship with Krip grew stronger with time and he made me feel comfortable with all the scenes. I have learnt from him that at the end of the day, work is all that matters and it’s your job as an actor to keep your insecurities aside and
deliver your best performance.
So, what makes your on-screen chemistry work?
Krip: The faith that God somewhere wants us to be a great on-screen couple.
Aparna: We are very good friends in real life and I guess our unconditional friendship is the reason our chemistry works so well on screen.
Who is a better co-star among the two of you?
Aparna: Of course Krip. He is always there to help me out with all the scenes. He is the best co-star any actor could ever ask for. And I hope when you ask him this question, he takes my name. (smiles)
Krip: It has to be Aparna. She is very hard-working and passionate. Also, she is a good human being at heart and that makes her a
better co-star than me any day.
How many times have you burst out laughing while filming a scene?
Krip: Once I was in the washroom and I had nothing to wear. I found a sari inside and draped it and came out. Everyone was laughing at me. And later I kept laughing constantly while filming key scenes, just thinking about it.
Aparna: It has happened a lot of times. Sometimes, I forget lines and sometimes he does. But when one of us forgets, the other one catches it and we end up laughing whenever this happens. This also eases our nervousness.
So, who takes more retakes?
Krip: I never counted my retakes honestly, but I believe Aparna does everything mostly in one go. Her acting skills are damn good.
Aparna: I feel I take more retakes than Krip. Most of the times, Krip delivers his best performance in one take. But in an attempt to make it even better, I end up with more retakes.
Any particular scene that has made its way to your heart?
Krip: All the scenes of the show are close to my heart. This show has helped me establish my identity. So picking one scene would be unfair in this case.
Aparna: Yes, the scene where I thought Ravi (played by Krip), a person who my character loves the most, is actually against her. I cannot imagine being in such a situation in real life and that scene actually touched my heart.
Any annoying habits/secrets you would like to reveal about each other?
Krip: I don’t judge people and their habits. Everyone is unique is their own way and I respect that.
Aparna: Krip can be very unpredictable — you can never guess his mood. And I feel I shouldn’t be revealing his secrets as he thinks of me as a friend and he trusts me. But yes, I can always blackmail him saying if he doesn’t listen to me, I will reveal his secrets (which even he knows I never will).
