“Earlier, there were only limited options for talented individuals to realise their dreams in various forms of entertainment and some to exhibit their unique talents. Only a select few who were either trained in theatre or learnt acting in classes managed to make it to serials and movies. But, the television has made it easy and also at the same very difficult. It is tough because of the number of talents around and opportunities being only a few,” says Aravind, a serial maker.

“It is the commoners who reap the benefit. Talent shows such as Kannadada Kotyadhipati, Super Minute, Pyaate Huduga, hudugi series are a few successful ones which have changed several lives. Whereas, singing reality shows provide the biggest platform and most of the times, the participants have left judges mesmerised. The latter provide them the biggest break to perform in movies and on the small screen,” explains director Kaushik.

There is always a negative side to everything as the recent controversial revelation over the process of realitys show is also an aspect of worry. However, it will continue to be part of the show for the obvious reason - a small window of opportunity to shine,” he signs off.
