Sorry folks, no spouse envy here
In September this year, Vivek Dahiya and wife Divyanka Tripathy were recently caught in a rather embarrassing situation, when word spread that Divyanka was demanding work for her husband. It doesn’t help matters that Vivek is married to a woman who enjoys much more success and fame than him. The actor, however, maintains that his wife’s stardom doesn’t affect him at all. “I have been asked numerous times by my fans, friends and her family too, if I would get insecure by Divyanka’s superstardom. But why would I?” he casually asks. “I am almost ten years younger to her in terms of experience. I shouldn’t compare myself to her at this point; I have a lot to learn. I believe I have a mentor at home. So if I ever need clarity on anything, I take pride in the fact that I can consult and learn from her,” he explains. Does the constant trial by media take a toll on their relationship? Vivek admits, “Whether we like it or not, things will be blown out of proportion. Controversies are part and parcel of being in the limelight. We don’t pay any heed to it.”
His current show Kavach failed to live up to the expectations as far as the ratings are concerned. The show will soon be wrapping up. Point that to the actor, and he refutes it. He says, “There was never an issue with Kavach’s ratings. People compared it to Naagin. But Kavach had a completely different concept. Neither Ekta Kapoor nor the channel were disappointed. We had decent TRPs. You never know, there might be Kavach 2 in the making.”
