Neil Bhoopalam takes shuddh Hindi lessons for first season of 24
Neil Bhoopalam, who played the Prime Minister in the first season of 24, will reprise his role in the show’s second season as well. The character that he plays, Aditya Singhania, speaks chaste Hindi, so to perfect his role, Neil has been taking some Hindi diction classes. His Hindi teacher, Hyder Ali, is often spotted on the sets, giving him lessons in between the shots.
Neil says, “For an actor, it is a huge responsibility to essay the role of a politician, especially when your age works against the character. So, I had to pitch Aditya Singhania as at least 6 to 8 years older and there was no room for error. Getting the Hindi diction right was my biggest task. The change I see in myself is unbelievable. It has made a world of difference to Aditya Singhania’s life and his serious demeanour has translated beautifully on-screen. I am confident that the homework put in by me and the team will show on screen and be appreciated by the viewers.”
