Veer Reddy Talks About His Upcoming Legal Thriller Legally Veer
As the release date of "Legally Veer" approaches, actor and producer Veer Reddy is gearing up for the promotion of his debut film. Set to hit theaters on December 27, "Legally Veer" is a legal thriller that explores the challenges faced by ordinary citizens in seeking justice.
In an exclusive conversation with Deccan Chronicle, Veer Reddy opens up about his inspiration, his character, and the message he wants to convey through his film.
Veer Reddy, who is based in Washington DC, reveals that the idea of "Legally Veer" was born out of his personal experience of taking care of his ailing father in India. After his father's passing, Veer Reddy decided to make a film as a tribute to his memory. "I wanted to make a long-lasting memory, as long as I'm alive, his memory should be with me," he says.
The film, which is being released in Telugu and Hindi, follows the story of a common man who finds himself entangled in a legal battle. Veer Reddy, who plays the lead role, explains that his character is relatable and authentic. "It's not specifically an Indian context. Justice is an expensive commodity globally," he says.
When asked about the international perspective he brings to the film, Veer Reddy reveals that his experience of living in the US and handling legal cases has influenced his approach to the story. "I didn't want to make a typical courtroom drama where the hero is invincible. I wanted to show the challenges faced by ordinary citizens," he says.
Veer Reddy is confident that "Legally Veer" will resonate with audiences. "It's an educative, entertaining, and gripping film. My advice is, however big you are, law is well above you. So follow the laws, be careful, be aware of the laws, and don't mess up," he says.
As the film's release date approaches, Veer Reddy is excited to share his story with audiences. "Legally Veer" is not just a courtroom drama; it's a personal tribute to his father's memory and a reflection of the challenges faced by ordinary citizens in seeking justice.
"I want people to take away the message that justice may not be perfect, but it's the best we have. We should respect the law and follow it," Veer Reddy concludes. He hopes that with its unique blend of courtroom drama and personal sentiment, "Legally Veer" will make a lasting impact on audiences.
